About Another Life

Another Life is an award-winning non-profit association working to increase representation and improve conditions for minoritised individuals and women as well as lifting the general work environment in the Danish music and cultural industry. Through our reports and research projects, we create data and knowledge that shed light on representation, mental health and discrimination from different perspectives. The collected data is used as the basis for our various activities and projects. → How we work Through our projects, we translate knowledge into concrete methods and tools to qualify the work with representation, discrimination, mental health, power structures, barriers and privileges in music and cultural life in Denmark. → Our Focus The association Another Life focuses on increasing intersectional equality and addressing and reducing discriminatory behaviour on a structural level. We therefore focus on representation based on several parameters including age, ethnicity, disabilities, skin colour, gender identity, mental health, sexuality and socio-economic class. → Our Vision Another Life’s vision is to impact all players and organisations in Danish music and cultural life to consider and implement a focus on representation and discrimination in their overall strategies and in various work processes. We work to ensure that the work with representation and mental health does not become a trend-based focus in the music and cultural industry, but instead becomes an anchored and persistent part of everyday work life.
