Die Austrian Power Grid AG (APG) ist der unabhängige Strom-Übertragungsnetzbetreiber Österreichs und für das heimische Übertragungsnetz auf der Höchstspannungsebene verantwortlich. Nur ein leistungsfähiges Übertragungsnetz macht es möglich, Strom aus erneuerbaren Energien in die europäische und die heimische Stromversorgung einzubinden und so die Energiewende zu verwirklichen. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Netzbetreibern der europäischen Nachbarländer schafft die APG die Grundlage für die Entwicklung eines EU-weit liberalisierten Strommarkts und ist mit dafür verantwortlich, der österreichischen Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft Strom zu marktgerechten Preisen zu sichern. Die APG ist außerdem verantwortlich für die Ökostromprognose in ganz Österreich und erfüllt damit eine weitere wesentliche Aufgabe bei der Integration erneuerbarer Energien in die heimische Stromversorgung.
