About Apoyo Positivo

En 1993, un grupo de profesionales de la salud, algunos de los cuales trabajaban en el Hospital de La Paz de Madrid con personas afectadas por el VIH/SIDA, llegaron a la conclusión de existían necesidades, psicológicas, familiares y sociales, críticas de atender para el bienestar de los pacientes que no quedaban cubiertas por el sistema sanitario. Apoyo Positivo surgió entonces como un intento de responder adecuadamente a dichas necesidades tanto en medios hospitalarios como en su vida cotidiana. En sus comienzos, realizó el programa de atención domiciliaria con cuidados paliativos hasta que la realidad del VIH se transformó en una atención cada vez mas psico-social y se fueron incorporando otros perfiles de profesionales y voluntarios. La atención se lanzaba a la calle; al contexto global de la sociedad.
