Applied Geophysics Consultancy (AGC) is a professional, one-stop service for near-surface geophysics and applied geosciences consultation. Among the areas of expertise of AGC are: •near-surface geophysics research and development (R&D) and applications; •near-surface phenomenology and affects on sensor response; •environmental and engineering geosciences; •cavity and tunnel detection and karst site characterization; •groundwater exploration and resource characterization; •unexploded ordnance (UXO); •soil and rock mechanics. AGC is not a source for conducting geophysical or geotechnical field surveying programs, but will plan field programs and recommend reputable geophysical companies. AGC will then provide detailed reviews of survey results and final reports. The Owner of AGC is Dwain K. Butler. Dr. Butler has a PhD in geophysics, a 47 year career in geophysics research, development and applications, and is a Registered Professional Geologist. His career included 30 years with the US Army Corps of Engineers; he retired as a Senior Research Geophysicist in 2002 and was the Principal National Technical Expert, Environmental and Hydrogeology. Dr. Butler was then employed as a Senior Principal Scientist by Alion Science and Technology Corp. for 7 years. He formed AGC in 2009.
