About Applied Scholastics Educator Training Institute

Since its inception in 1972, Applied Scholastics International has opened the doors of opportunity for millions of children and adults by implementing effective educational programs in a vast array of settings. This effectiveness is based upon our use of the advanced educational tools and methods developed by L. Ron Hubbard. Fundamental to Applied Scholastics programs is the premise that a successful education is far more than just being able to read with the end result of passing an examination. It includes the ability to understand and utilize the information that one studies. By doing so, one gains the skill to reason with and analyze the data in order to use it to better one’s life. To meet the global demand for training, Applied Scholastics opened its residential campus and Educator Training Institute at Spanish Lake, near St. Louis, Missouri, in 2003. This 100-acre training campus is the site of the first institute of Study Technology and serves as the international headquarters of Applied Scholastics. Teachers and administrators from public and private schools, tutors, corporate business trainers and educational consultants come to Spanish Lake from around the world. Applied Scholastics training doesn’t just provide an understanding of the theory of Study Technology. One leaves with a complete mastery of the application of techniques that enable students to become more accountable, self-directed and self-advocating. Today there are over 1,500 Applied Scholastics affiliated groups, schools, community centers, English language schools and business training consultants around the world. Moreover, 172,000 educators have been trained on Study Technology and they have helped over 55 million people in 110 countries to overcome their barriers to study. Applied Scholastics is a non-religious, independent, nonprofit public benefit corporation.
