About APR Consultants
APR is an innovative technology company that is devoted to the study of aircraft response to measured pavement profile data. APR provides pavement evaluation services that determine the true ride quality of a runway; be it rough or smooth. APR uses its exclusive aircraft simulation capability to predict the aircraft’s response to the measured profile. APR’s aircraft library consists of a variety of commercial and military aircraft. Realizing that pavement profile analysis is only as good as the profile data used in the analysis, APR offers the Auto Rod and Level – ER (AR&L – ER). This unit, approved for new pavement smoothness acceptance testing per FAA AC 150/5370-10H, is the only pavement profiling device that uses an external reference. Using an external reference allows the AR&L – ER to capture the runway’s true profile; all bumps, dips and grade changes regardless of wavelength. This modern adaptation of the most trusted form of topographical surveying, APR’s AR&L – ER can measure a true elevation data point every foot (.25m) accurate to 1mm. It can measure a 10,000-foot (3,048m) line of survey in less than one hour. Airport pavement roughness is not APR’s only specialty. APR’s unique technology is used to track profile shape changes and their effect on aircraft ride quality. Runways, as big as they are, can move over time due to traffic, settlement or heaving. APR’s technology can track these changes and predict how an aircraft will respond to it. APR has over 25 years of experience in measuring and evaluating airfield pavements.
