AQASS Ltd is a consultancy and research company with expertise in marine to freshwater systems. We deliver solutions to complex aquatic environmental challenges from both planning and project bases to unintended impacts management. Capabilities include survey design and management, large scale data set analysis (e.g. remotely sensed data acquisition and management), policy and regulatory requirement achievement and management of incidental events such as pollution impact studies. We undertake research and development studies collaborating with academic partners on aquatic system research papers particularly pollution and conservation focussed. Projects comprise field to desk studies in freshwater to marine systems with backgrounds in geospatial to ecological data assessment and impact studies e.g.: • assessment of environmental risk for a major Indian Ocean shipping pollution incident • field survey and regulatory assistance, sustainable maritime research centre • assessment of potential ecological impacts of wreck raising off Morocco • large scale spatial data use, e.g. USA offshore windfarm bathymetric data analysis • research / commercial projects on saltmarsh restoration and carbon sequestration and storage • long-term study on water abstraction, quality and protected fish passage • assessment of marine pollutants of emerging concern on UK bioindicator species • HRAs, Marine Plans, Water Framework Directive Assessments • EIA impact technical studies Project location examples include: UK, Monaco, Belgium, Mozambique comprising field / desk studies and other desk based locations include e.g. USA, The Gulf, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Caspian Sea. We apply scientific research to support policy documents, impact studies, due diligence and project oversight and manage and undertake field surveys. We provide a high level problem solving service for commercial to government bodies including expert input to legal aspects.
