About Arbaflame

We have developed a world leading and patented steam-treatment technology to produce wood pellets and associated bio-products based on sustainable and certified feedstock from residual waste from the forest industry. Our first full scale production facility, ArbaOne close to Kongsvinger, has just been completed with an annual capacity of 70,000 tonnes of pellets per year. Our pellets, which are marketed under the Arbacore brand name, are particularly well-suited as a replacement or mix with fossil fuel in coal-fired power stations. Arbacore pellets have a higher energy content than conventional white pellets, are waterproof and have similar characteristics as coal; being utilized, transported and stored in the same way. Through this product, Arbaflame is helping to reduce emissions from coal-fired power production without significant conversion costs. The patented technology has been proven for +10 years at full-scale demo plant, and tested & verified at 14 power plants in Europe & North America In addition to pellets we provide several other products from our proprietary production process. We extract furfural alcohol and we produce methane gas which is used for local energy production. Together with our research partners we have received more than EUR 12m in funding from Horizon 2020 and the Research Counsil of Norway. We are developing solutions for production of other bio-chemicals, bio-plastics, single cell proteins for fish-feed and flavouring used within the food industry.
