About ARC Association

Created on the 17 September 2013 and published in the Official Journal Officiel, France, (1865) the 28 September 2013. The Abdelkader Rahhaoui Cancer (ARC) Association organises sports challenges in order to raise funds in the fight against cancer. With my husband we created this Association in memory of my father-in-law, Abdelkader Rahhaoui, whom we lost to prostate cancer in January 2012. Today there exists a great number of associations around the world that talk about this mysterious and phantom illness, but the ARC Association's goal is to help to educate and create awareness about this illness in Morocco. In Morocco, cancer on the whole scares the population but Prostate Cancer remains taboo. If only men knew that by having a check-up they could live longer and avoid suffering. But it remains a topic that is very difficult to approach. Men do not want to discuss it nor understand what may be happening to them so they chose to live in ignorance with the false hope that they may get better. But this false hope takes thousands of lives. The ARC Association's mission is to help to change this perception and create awareness about Prostate Cancer amongst the male population of Morocco. Our first major sporting event will be the Marathon des Sables in April 2014
