Archery Exchangeis the most recent evolution of a 44 year old Archery business in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. West Town Archery was founded by Ken Lenske and Al Schaffhauser in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin in 1964. In 1982, with a little help from Fred Bear at the Grand Opening, West Town opened for business in an old high school building at 6725 W. Burleigh St. in Milwaukee, where it still exists today. In 1989 Al & Ken decided it was time to lay the ground work for their retirement and that's where we come in. We are Al Schaffhauser's 5 sons, Rob, Fred, Paul, Pete & Tom. In 1990 we purchased the business from Ken & Al and are now the second generation at West Town. In 1999 WTA Inc. was formed but we still do business as West Town Archery. That brings us to March 31st, 1999 and the launch of the Archery Exchange. We formed this web site as an extension of our retail store. It is our serious attempt to understand and embrace new technologies, and to feel the excitement in helping to shape the new face of shopping for decades or even centuries to come. We believe that we have a very sensible method of selling archery gear in our store and we feel it will prove to be as effective in gaining your trust and repeat business.
