About Architecture Intelligences Chaire
The goal of the chair is to develop innovative collaboration, in technology, Architecture and urban design order to work out with them solutions for improving the act of building and its environmental impact. We create operative research partnerships with companies and institutions in the field of Cities development and management, housing and commercial building, building construction and engineering, building materials and resources, management of built heritage. With the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) a paradigmatic shift of all our activities is underway. It affects the way we define, locate and move in space, but also our way of understanding materiality, buildings and cities. Our expertise in these fields has shown that architects and designers must have an active role in this shift to define modes of collaboration between intelligent systems and humans to improve our built and natural environment. The chair focuses on 5 research areas: - AUGMENTED or PREDICTIVE DESIGN. We are considering here all devices to assist design and analyze data from buildings, customers and users. The chair draws a particular attention to collaborative practices through the use of BIM and the implementation of building data analysis and design protocols. - The generalization of SMART CITIES, with mobility issues, in particular with the emergence of the autonomous car, energy management and the reduction of the environmental footprint of cities constitute a major challenge for our research. - The METAVERSE and immersive environments for the creation virtual spaces or augmented reality for teaching, travelling, working, and gaming. - SMART HOUSING and all the devices to improve the daily living experience, the response of architecture to users, in particular through the generalization of connected objects ( IOT) - The design and development of SMART MATERIALS AND INNOVATIVE CONSTRUCTION METHODS , digital manufacturing, connected materials, such as smart concretes
