About ARDITI

ARDITI – the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation is a non-profit public utility association based in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, acting as a bridge between science, technology and innovation. Our mission is to stimulate research, promote knowledge transfer, and support regional economic development driven by science and technology — contributing to a more sustainable, competitive and innovative future. We focus on strategic areas that address both regional and global challenges, namely: - Robotic technologies – oceanic, aerial and health-related; - Innovation and digital transformation; - Marine ecology and biology. ARDITI currently integrates and supports six research and interface units, which strengthen its scientific and technological capacity at the service of the region and the country: MARE-Madeira – the regional hub of MARE – Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre, dedicated to the study and conservation of marine ecosystems; Dom Luiz Institute (IDL-Madeira) – focused on research in geosciences and climate change; ITI – Interactive Technologies Institute, a national reference in interactive technologies and digital innovation; Madeira Ocean Observatory (OOM) – an R&D structure developing and implementing marine robotics and ocean observation systems; Sentinela Atlântica – a technological platform dedicated to the development of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for environmental monitoring and for civil and military security support; i.arditi – the innovation unit that fosters connections between science, business and society, driving the practical application and impact of scientific knowledge. With a vision of local research with global impact, ARDITI works to establish Madeira as a territory of scientific and technological excellence, open to collaboration, innovation and sustainable development.
