Mission Statement The Area Housing Authority of the County of Ventura shall be a leader in providing opportunities and assistance to people in need of affordable housing through development, acquisitions, and partnerships. What We Do The Area Housing Authority is responsible for administration of two main housing programs; the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program and the Public Housing Program. Both programs are funded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In addition, the Area Housing Authority is a housing developer, owner/operator of multi-family properties, and has Non-Profit status from the IRS under Section 501(c)(3).
