About Argyll FM
We are the local, fully independent regional radio station serving communities across Argyll and the south-west of Scotland. We broadcast on 106.5, 107.1 and 107.7 FM and online, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from our studio in Campbeltown. We are a registered charity, operated entirely by dedicated volunteers and broadcast mainly locally produced programs, broadcasting since the year 2000 on three FM frequencies and since late 2021 also over the Internet with three digital audio streams. We have successfully established ourselves as a valued asset within the Argyll community and rely totally on local fundraising, donations, grants, and advertising revenue to cover the day-to-day running costs. We have many volunteers who give up their precious free time each week to present programs, answer telephones and help behind the scenes. Scores of local charities rely on us on a regular basis to publicize up and coming fundraising events, as well as local artistes regarding us as an invaluable service. We value our close liaisons with Police Scotland and Argyll and Bute Council to provide local road traffic reports and any other urgent appeals for information relevant to our listeners. We are able to enhance our broadcast area by promoting events for locals and tourists alike. Through our magazine programmes we are able to provide vital bulletins on educational, health and social issues of the day, thus becoming another channel of public awareness, especially to the more remote parts of our broadcast area. We're in the midst of modernising and relaunching the station, its content, reach and funding structure to secure it for the future. Join us on our journey to providing a relevant, fresh yet still totally independent service to the people of the south-west of Scotland!
