About Arizona Burn Foundation
The Arizona Burn Foundation (ABF) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for burn survivors and their families in Arizona, while promoting burn prevention advocacy and education. When a person suffers a burn injury, they rely on a network of medical professionals, emotional support staff, families, and friends. As the only private burn foundation with staff based in a burn center, ABF unites all parties to provide compassionate services through a comprehensive continuum of care—a model that has been serving Arizona since 1967. ABF’s Continuum of Care is comprised of crisis and recovery care and thrive services to help burn survivors not only survive but thrive. HOPE Services: • Emotional & Peer Support: Helping survivors and their families connect and heal. • Financial Assistance & Resources: Providing lodging, transportation, gas, and meal vouchers. • Developmental Programs: Offering opportunities for personal growth and social connection through camps, retreats, and social gatherings. • School Re-entry Programs: Supporting children as they return to school after a burn injury. • Scholarships: MacDonald Woods Scholarship Program for post-secondary education & World Burn Congress Scholarships Prevention & Education: • Community Smoke Alarm Program: Partnering with local fire departments, volunteers, and the American Red Cross to install smoke alarms across the state. • Deaf and Hard of Hearing Smoke Alarm Program: Installing specialized smoke alarms that pair with strobe lights and bed shakers. • Milo & Moxie: Smart Safety Rangers™ and Milo & Moxie: Wildfire Prevention™: Teaching child-friendly burn prevention and fire safety education in schools. ABF is grateful to our community for their donations, which directly impact the burn community and sustain the critical services and programs we provide throughout Arizona. Learn more at azburn.org.
