About Arizona Geriatrics Society AzGS

The Arizona Geriatrics Society (AzGS) is a professional non-profit association dedicated to supporting health and human service professionals that advance geriatric care throughout Arizona. Membership is open to all professionals and institutions that provide geriatric care. The Arizona Geriatrics Society is an affiliate of the American Geriatrics Society and works to foster cooperation with other healthcare organizations that advance elder care issues. Our resources come through dues, educational revenues and private grants from organizations that support our mission to improve elder care models in Arizona. AzGs is comprised of physicians, nurses, social workers, case managers, licensed administrators and other health care professionals in the senior care community. We host conferences and seminars throughout the year (great way to get CEUs and really learn about what’s going on with geriatric care), as well as monthly dinners and events for members. The issues surrounding geriatric medicine are becoming of greater interest to the public and to the legislature. Molding public policy, advancing elder care issues and addressing the financial ramifications of an aging population are areas in which healthcare professionals need to be actively involved. Anyone interested in these issues is welcome to join the AzGS and assist in directing the destiny of elder care in Arizona.
