Who are the Arizona Rangers - The Arizona Rangers are a uniformed, law enforcement auxiliary reporting to the Governor of Arizona with a rich history dating back to the 1800’s. Our Services - The Arizona Rangers provide law enforcement assistance to any federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies within the State of Arizona, security services for community and civic organizations, as well as support for youth and youth organizations within Arizona. All Arizona Rangers undergo a state and national background check and investigation, must hold a current Arizona Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit and complete the Arizona Ranger Training Academy (ARTA). Rangers are certified to carry collapsible batons, OC spray, and meet Arizona POST qualification standards in firearms. They also receive Arizona POST training in handcuffing and defensive tactics. Arizona Rangers may undertake specialized training by and for an agency that requires special duty assistance for which that specific training is given. Many Arizona Rangers have previous law enforcement and/or military experience. Our History - The Arizona Rangers have a long history of upholding the US and Arizona Constitutions. With roots dating back to the late 1800s, the Arizona Rangers played a key role in the settlement of Arizona.
