About Arkansas Commitment
Every year, thousands of academically gift students with great potential end up forfeiting educational opportunities due to a lack of guidance and a lack of resources. Arkansas Commitment is dedicated to ensuring that students have an environment to grow and develop with culturally responsive guidance and mentorship as we prepare the next generation of scientists, doctors, artists, educators, and politicians. Established in 1990 by the vision of Dr. Dean Kumpuris of Little Rock, Arkansas Commitment provides free supplemental counseling to underrepresented students within the Central Arkansas Area. Through specialized college preparation curriculum, monthly admissions and financial aid workshops, ACT preparation, and more, Arkansas Commitment prepares 9-12th grader students to ensure a successful transition from high school to college. With our intentional cultivation of well-rounded students, 100% of the members within our cohorts have matriculated to college, collectively earning more than $40 million in merit-based scholarships, need-based aid, and outside scholarships.
