About Armstrong County Community Action Partnership
The Mission Statement of Armstrong County Community Action Partnership (ACCAP) is: “We empower individuals and families in Armstrong County and surrounding areas through resource mobilization, sustainable solutions, and support, thus fostering self-sufficiency and community strength.” Our Services: Resource Center: Functioning as a "one-stop shop," our Resource Center provides personalized referrals to ensure individuals receive the most beneficial assistance available. We connect people with essential services, including housing, food, healthcare, and employment. Housing Department: This department provides comprehensive support for those facing or at risk of homelessness. Our services are designed to stabilize living situations through emergency housing, homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing, and rental assistance programs. Family Services Department: We actively combat food insecurity through our Food Bank Network, which operates 16 pantries across the county. We also spread holiday cheer with the Adopt-A-Family Holiday Project, providing gifts and meals, and the Thanksgiving Turkey Distribution Program, offering food vouchers in partnership with KDKA-TV. Additionally, we foster early literacy by participating in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which mails free, age-appropriate books to children. Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP): This program ensures that individuals can access crucial medical and mental health appointments by providing either mileage reimbursement or shared ride services. Weatherization Department: Our dedicated team helps residents achieve long-term energy savings by installing energy-saving materials in their homes. This department also provides emergency repairs and replacement of heating units through the LIHEAP program, ensuring families stay warm and safe.
