About Army Rugby League - British Army
Rugby League epitomises the heart and soul of what it takes to be a soldier in the British Army. A hard physical game, players put the needs of the team and their team mates before themselves with selfless commitment, loyalty, courage, respect for others, integrity and discipline. To be successful, a rugby league team must live to the very highest professional standards and push as hard as possible on the pitch within the laws of the game, combining competition and fighting spirit with sporting integrity and cameraderie. These qualities have been well recognised by the civilian clubs, competition organisers and supporters who come into contact with the Army Rugby League teams and players. The Army Rugby League Men’s play in the “Betfred Challenge Cup” and the Women’s play in the “Women’s Super League South” as well as Academy and Veterans teams that play alongside the representative teams throughout the year leading up to the Inter-Service competition in September. As important is community engagement, and our success and our values are rooted in the communities from which we recruit our soldiers, particularly in the heartland of Rugby League. We thank our sponsors and key partners for their continual support to Army Rugby League.
