About Art at the Heart
Art at the Heart CIC supports • workplace wellbeing through mindful engagement with art • young people to develop creativity, empathy and resilience—21st century skills that also support mental health and wellbeing. Workplace wellbeing is a huge challenge facing employers–work-related stress, anxiety or depression account for over half of all working days lost due to ill health in Britain. Poor workplace wellbeing affects an employee’s ability to effectively engage with their colleagues, managers and work. Around £1.7b is lost in output and productivity (by employees in WM region) as a direct result of poor workplace wellbeing. Happier and healthier employees work more efficiently and sustainably. If you’re looking for innovative ways to create a happier, more productive workforce and want to increase wellbeing, we can help. We support the delivery of workplace health & wellbeing through mindful engagement with art. 75% of adult mental illness starts in childhood. The arts can play an important preventative role. Design thinking develops growth mindset naturally. Our artist educators work with primary and secondary schools to offer combined/cultural/visual arts workshops for pupils, CPD for teachers and After School Art Clubs. Designed to nurture creativity, workshops develop confidence, problem solving skills, resilience and support emotional wellbeing, embracing PSHE/SMSC. Outcomes make inspirational displays reflecting the school community and the school's uniqueness. As Asian role models, we actively combat cultural prejudice against the arts. In 2011, our arts leadership won the TES FE Award for Outstanding Innovation in Teaching and Learning. Combining the insights of experienced artist educators (creative skills), equality and diversity managers (social justice) and senior managers (impact; targets) we understand your challenges from multiple perspectives.
