Art Meets Plants is a SE Queensland-based mobile mindfulness workshop business servicing the NDIS, disability and corporate sectors. Our workshops support better mental health in participants through socialisation, cognition, body movement, mindfulness, creative expression and engagement with nature. While everyone gets to keep their own plant creation, the real product is experiencing the fundamentals of mindfulness which reduces reactivity, stress and pain, and improves decision-making. While creating a terrarium, kokedama (hanging moss ball with ferns), vertical garden or other beautiful plant designs is typically a relaxing and enjoyable experience, it also poses challenges that are translatable for everyday life. The Art Meets Plants workshop is a safe and controlled environment, and such challenges provide an ideal opportunity to practice mindfulness for later application in “the real world”.
