The Artificial Intelligence Collaboration Centre (AICC) is a £16.3 million initiative led by Ulster University, in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast. Our mission is to advance awareness and adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies among businesses across Northern Ireland. Supported by Invest Northern Ireland and the Department for the Economy NI, this groundbreaking 5-year project aims to enhance competitiveness, boost productivity, and promote the ethical and responsible use of AI across diverse industries. Our vision is to accelerate AI adoption within SMEs, build AI skills capacity, foster collaboration, and drive innovation across key sectors to boost competitiveness and enhance productivity. This will ultimately position Northern Ireland as a global leader in AI innovation and implementation. What we do: Collaborative innovation: We bring together academia, industry, and government to co-develop AI-driven solutions that solve real-world problems, unlocking efficiencies, enhancing services, and driving economic growth. Expert support: We offer up to 20 days of fully funded AI, machine learning, and data science consultancy, delivered by in-house data scientists and applied researchers. Education and upskilling: We offer fully funded AI related postgraduate courses and short courses, equipping professionals, SMEs, and researchers with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive in an AI-driven world. Community building: By hosting 48 events over four years, from intimate workshops to high-impact conferences, we are creating a thriving AI ecosystem in NI. Research & development: As a hub for cutting-edge research, we connect businesses with the latest AI technologies and expertise.
