About Artsmith

Artsmith is non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides quality arts-centered programming to underserved Bronx youth from the ages of 8-18. Many studies supported by education scholars and policy-makers, show that the Arts is necessary for providing a well-rounded education. We use the Arts to counter the widening gap between the socioeconomically elite and the disadvantaged. At Artsmith we believe that every child, in spite of socio-economic status, should have access to the Arts. Artsmith is built on the premise that the world is better served when all people have equal opportunities. Art, in all its forms, has an ability unmatched by other methods to allow people of all ages to develop empathy for others and to imagine the world in ways previously unseen. The Arts can give a voice to the silenced. And we want to help tomorrow’s leaders to find their voices and participate in the conversations that will shape their communities and the world. Based In one of the world’s most diverse and culturally rich cities, Artsmith will tap into New York’s City’s cultural offerings, providing participants with opportunities to explore and engage the myriad of cultures and ideas right in their own backyard. Artsmith’s programming provides interactive projects and activities that will allow participants to grow in ways that we hope will have lasting effects on their lives and communities. Among other learning outcomes, Artsmith’s programs seek to strengthen participants’ self-image, and aid participants in developing life goals and understanding current events on societal and global levels.
