Ascend Travel, is a travel agency based in Cusco, Peru specializing in service travel (aka "Voluntourism") and cultural travel (aka "Rural Tourism"). Ascend Travel organizes and operates service expeditions and traditional Peru tours (like Machu Picchu). Our sustainable development initiatives include solutions in simple technologies, education, microenterprise and health. We also sell tour packages (fully-inclusive) for destinations all over Peru - in the categories of: classic tours, day tours, mystical tourism, trekking, jungle adventures, and biking and rafting. By doing so, we help raise our operational expenses without diverting funding from our humanitarian projects. We work together with local and regional governments, like-minded institutions, and businesses to help fund and carry out our humanitarian projects and service expeditions. We offer superior customer service and operate better tours than our competition by incorporating western operating standards in the profoundly different, and often frustrating, Peruvian business environment.
