"To provide opportunities for all people to become devoted followers of Christ" -- that is our mission statement and it applies to everything we do. We are an ELCA congregation in beautiful Thousand Oaks, California, established in 1948, with our Ascension Lutheran School that opened in 1963, and our Ascension Lutheran Early Childhood Center soon after. Our school serves students from kindergarten through 8th Grade and is dedicated to nurturing each student, providing academic excellence and creating bold, compassionate leaders who inspire and serve others in their walk with Jesus Christ. ALECC serves preschoolers in a happy and caring environment. Ascension has infant care as well. We are a church hearty in fellowship, active in service, family friendly and steeped in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We offer worship services Saturday evenings at 6:00 p.m. (country), and Sunday mornings at 8:00, 9:30 (traditional) and 11:00 (contemporary) plus Bible Studies, Grief Share, a food pantry open Fridays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and much more.
