ASCM Houston Chapter serves Houston and the surrounding areas since 1972. The Chapter has more than 900 members, the largest in the Terra Grande District. ASCM Houston Chapter is the leading chapter (of 270 ASCM chapters) in Supply Chain Education. Many nationally recognized instructors and speakers have been brought to Houston Chapter classes, workshops, and the professional dinner meetings. Since 2003, ASCM Houston Chapter is the recipient of the Platinum Chapter Award, ASCM's highest chapter award. ASCM Houston Chapter is a Premier Elite APICS Training Partner. Houston Chapter is a generous supporter of student activities and education research. The Chapter proudly sponsors the largest ASCM student chapter at University of Houston which also the largest in the world. ASCM Houston Chapter works towards maximizing the benefits achieved from the APICS Body of Knowledge by organizations, their employees, and individuals. The chapter primarily provides two key services: 1) Operations and Supply Chain Education 2) Certification review and professional membership which promotes networking related activities. Operations and supply chain education includes APICS certification classes - CPIM and CSCP, workshops – Lean Enterprise and Global Sourcing, professional dinner meetings and plant tours.
