Asé Sunscreen was founded by five international students brought together at EF Academy with a shared mission: to protect the future of our planet. United by our passion for sustainability, we focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal: Life Below Water. Through research, we discovered that one of the leading causes of coral reef bleaching is a surprising one—conventional sunscreen. Many sunscreens contain harmful chemicals like oxybenzone, octocrylene, and octinoxate, which wash into the ocean and damage marine ecosystems. In response, we created Asé Sunscreen: a high-SPF, reef-safe formula that’s gentle on all skin types, affordable, and packaged in sustainable, visually appealing designs that resonate with today’s youth. We’re not just a skincare brand—we’re part of a movement. 10% of our profits are donated to the Coral Reef Alliance, supporting efforts to protect and restore coral reefs worldwide. At Asé, we believe small changes—like choosing reef-safe sunscreen—can lead to big waves.
