About ASEAN Youth Organization
ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO) roots from the establishment of ASEAN Community (AC) page in August 13, 2011. Originally formed to serve as an online platform for better understanding among ASEAN citizens, AC became an engine to unite both ASEAN and non-ASEAN youth alike. As AC grew bigger, the idea for a formal ASEAN Youth Organization was formed in 2013. Since 2013, AYO initiated exchange programs where its active members and volunteers can meet and foster better understanding of each other and of their cultures. AYO was registered as a Foundation (*Yayasan) in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2015. An ASEAN approved non-profit youth organization, recognised by ASEAN Secretariat as Southeast Asia's Largest Ground-up non-profit youth organization and Development Platform. Our Vision: A world where youth exhibit a heightened interest in ASEAN through our activities that Empower, Engage and Educate Youth Communities to implement ideas that enable Sustainable Positive Change. Our Mission: To Impact 10 million lives by 2025, by improving the social mobility of these youth through inclusive quality education and employment/self-employment opportunities. AYO Chapters/Networks: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, China*, India, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom (UK), United States (US) and Germany.
