Ashfold School is an independent day, weekly and flexi boarding school for boys and girls aged three to thirteen years. Set in thirty acres of grounds in rural Buckinghamshire, the School is a busy and vibrant place with a reputation as a friendly, family-orientated school. Founded in 1927, Ashfold is a country prep school offering the very best in both traditional and innovative teaching. The School has extensive facilities and plans for future investment include a new, purpose-built Art & Technology Building due for completion in 2015. Most children join the School in the Pre-Prep Department and move on to top independent senior schools at 13+. Ashfold has an impressive academic record and in recent years, 40% percent or more of leavers have achieved scholarships or awards to senior schools including Magdalen College School, Wellington College, Radley, Abingdon, Rugby, Stowe and Headington. The School has a 100% pass rate for Common Entrance exams. Ashfold offers an excellent all-round education with superb opportunities for sport, art, music and drama as well as a wide-ranging programme of extra-curricular activities. The curriculum is broad and challenging, designed to give children the firmest possible grounding in the core academic subjects and to develop their skills, confidence and wider interests. Pastoral care is rated ‘excellent’ by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. The School aims to make education fun and give children confidence while ensuring they move on to their senior schools with the skills, values and habits that will enable them to thrive there.
