A couture house is not just the story of a designer. It’s the story of a family bound together by craftsmanship, elegance and love. It’s a story written as a team. With the ateliers, first. With couture’s traditions, sometimes. With the clients, always. The act of dressing is no simple choice. As in tales of creation in every cultures: it is every morning, the world born anew. A new story to be told. When Ashi Studio was launched in 2007, our sole purpose has been empowering a person, by creating to fit around their life, rather than imposing a style or dictating a taste. What we do is not design clothes, or sell the dream of the megawatt star who wore us on a magazine cover; of the editorial icon who first opened the hallowed pages of her publication; or even the myriad of masters who walked this path before us. What we do is tell stories through details that are intimate to the wearer and to the craft of couture itself. Whispered fantasy or bold declaration, they are not our tales to tell. They are those of our clients. In order to dress a silhouette, there must be an understanding of what moves you. In the physical sense: the intricacies of construction that bend fabric to fit reality and desires. In the metaphorical sense: each couture creation is a projection of your true self, and an armour that must be absolute and absolutely weightless
