About Asia Campus at Songdo Global University

Songdo Global University (SGU) located in Songdo, Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ), is comprised of a number of world's renowned universities, including: University of Utah, State University of New York (SUNY), George Mason University and Ghent University. The participating universities will offer a broad range of undergraduate and graduate majors and provide high-quality, cutting-edge education to over 10,000 students from all over the world. This project is unique in creating a single multi-institutional campus and is gaining international attention. The University of Utah is honored and excited to be a part of Songdo Global University project as a founding University. Students from around the world will have convenient access to the University of Utah’s amazing faculty, staff and academic culture at the soon to be opened University of Utah Asia Campus at Songdo Global University. Upon approval from the Korean Ministry of Education, the new Asia Campus anticipates opening in 2014. The University of Utah will offer several exciting Undergraduate and Graduate degrees to students from around the world. In recent articles Songdo, South Korea has been touted as “the city of the future” and global education is a cornerstone of the city’s mission. We are proud to have been selected to help lead the charge for global education as the world moves toward a more global society. Being a part of the Songdo Global University project will allow for greater fulfillment of the University of Utah’s core mission to “serve the people of Utah and the world; through the dissemination of knowledge by teaching, publication, artistic presentation and technology transfer; and through community engagement.” The University of Utah’s environmental commitment and dedication to advancing education and technology align perfectly with the goals of this “city of the future”.
