About Asia-Pacific Development Initiative

We exist to empower young people across the Asia-Pacific region to become agents of change and lead sustainable development in their communities. By investing in young, grassroots changemakers, we are building a movement that drives long-term change for a more just and sustainable world. At Oaktree we raise awareness in the community by running programs and events, we lobby the government and fundraise for our overseas projects. At our club, we host a variety of events to bring together a community passionate about volunteering and empowering our peers to come together to make a difference. Club Aims: 1. Encourage Government and community to adhere to UN Millennium Development Goals. 2. Empower developing communities, by fundraising for educational projects overseas. 3. Through youth-run activities, educate and empower the youth at Melbourne University about issues of poverty and development. 4. To use the education of Melbourne University students as a platform to support campaigns and create initiatives aimed at ending extreme poverty and global injustice.
