About Asia Society France
Leveraging the rich history between Asia and France, Asia Society France is dedicated to reinforcing the links between France and the broader EU, and Asia, advancing Asia Society’s mission: navigating shared futures for Asia and the world across policy, arts, culture, education, sustainability, and technology. Many areas that the newest Asian Society center in Paris has begun to address since its global launch in October 2022 with its France-Asia conversations.Building on the existing human, economic and cultural ties between France and Asia, Asia Society France provides a platform for dialogue and encourages a diversity of views and nationalities to enhance peace, prosperity, freedom, equality and sustainability with an aim to “shed light not heat”. Created in 1956 to promote a better knowledge of Asia in the United States, Asia Society has grown over the past two decades to meet the new world: the organization – independent of any government – has fourteen centers around the world. With a French and European touch, Asia Society France is Asia Society's first establishment in the European Union – alongside our colleagues in Zurich. In an increasingly polarized global space, we believe Paris needed an additional forum for dialogue, without bias – away from political and economic pressure. Asia Society France is open to all. It will be the place of discussion par excellence between two continents, Asia and Europe, but also a platform for global exchange that reflects the commitment of our organization for sixty-six years.
