About Asian Students In Australia (A.S.I.A)

A.S.I.A (Asian Students in Australia) is a non-profit student organisation operating in collaboration with the Student Guilds of The University of Western Australia (UWA) & Curtin University. The organisation began in 1994 by a handful of students with the shared vision of giving Asian students (both local & international) a taste of the Australian lifestyle, which is encapsulated in the motto – “Friends Without Boundaries”. A.S.I.A strives to assist students adapting to the many pressures of university life by organising social events to "break the ice" and meet like-minded individuals. This vision, coupled with our ‘down-to-earth’ attitude and friendliness has resulted in the continual growth of our club to over 1500 members. We are highly reputed as the largest Asian University club in Western Australia, and one of the largest student clubs Australia-wide. Corporate sponsorship is tailored around offering discounts and benefits to club members. Businesses are rewarded with direct marketing channels to connect with our significant membership base. Our yearly sponsorship portfolio encompasses local and national businesses, and has previously featured major entities Student Edge, Alize, Politix and Vodafone. Our lively events range from BBQs, quiz nights, end of semester parties, and even an inaugural ‘A.S.I.A. Down South Camp‘. However, the most recognisable event which truly symbolises our club is the annual 'A.S.I.A. Cocktail‘. A.S.I.A Cocktail has consistently received excellent reviews, with highlights including our 2010 turnout attracting over 2500 people at Metro City Nightclub. Our current committee comprises a group of diverse, innovative, fun people. We strive to offer an unmatchable experience for all club members to cultivate a memorable social life at University.
