About ASISS

The background of ASISS: While various schools’ security professionals have at times shared their experiences and approaches unofficially, there hadn't been an organization with this focus in Asia. In 2016 the International School of Beijing and Singapore American School saw the need to create such a partnership amongst interested schools, through which collaboration in this area would become more routine. By connecting professionals with similar goals, ASISS' goal has always been to help member schools learn about, adopt, and promote best practices in the vital areas of school security, risk mitigation, and emergency planning. Today: ASISS has grown and now has a steering committee made up of members from; SAS Singapore ISM Manila ISB Bangkok ISKL Malaysia JIS Jakarta Harrow School Bangkok Marlborough College Indonesia Dulwich College Singapore Regents Pattaya Thailand Conferences have been held in Singapore, Bangkok, and Manila. Attendance has been diverse and including representation from schools around the world. This page has been created to further connect safety and security professionals around SE Asia and the rest of the International School community.
