About Asociación Juventud De Africana Negra

The Associació Joventut África Negra de Catalunya (JAN) was founded on September 19, 2019, with the aim of creating a space for freedom of expression, collaboration, and knowledge for young people of African descent. The mission of the association encompasses various objectives, such as promoting unity of action, developing the capabilities of young people, analyzing the challenges faced by the African youth community, and raising awareness about African cultural, social, and educational activities at the national level. Additionally, we work to foster coexistence between immigrants and natives, as well as to defend equality and human rights. Our main activities include several programs designed to empower and support young people: ➔ JAN EXPERIENCE: An annual event that takes our community to Africa through its gastronomy, fashion, and traditional music. This space celebrates and shares our African roots. ➔ JAN HABILITIES: An educational and motivational program led by members of the association and external experts. The talks cover topics such as mental and emotional control, healthy relationships, and financial management, with the goal of empowering young people and equipping them to make informed decisions. ➔ JAN ORATOIRE: Public speaking contests open to everyone, aimed at developing communication skills, boosting confidence, and fostering critical thinking among young people. Participants also have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership and connect with mentors. ➔ JAN GAMES: Recreational activities designed to promote coexistence and integration between young people and the community. Through games and fun dynamics, we create a welcoming environment where everyone feels included. ➔ Community Meetings: We organize gatherings with young people from Canovelles and surrounding areas to share experiences and discuss important topics for the community.
