Our legacy goes back to the inception of Alside in 1947, when our founder, Jerome J. Kaufman, introduced America's first residential baked enamel aluminum siding. This groundbreaking innovation marked the start of our rich history in advancing exterior building products. Decades later, in 1984, Alside was acquired along with two other companies, forming Associated Materials. In 2001, our growth continued as Gentek became part of the family, extending our footprint into Canada. Today, Associated Materials carries our roots in innovation forward through three distinct businesses: Associated Materials Innovations, Alside®, and Gentek® Building Products.
