About Association for Women in Computing @ UMD

It can be difficult to be a field dominated by men. We provide a social and academic space for the female students of the Department of Computer Science so that they can be successful and feel more comfortable as they process through this male-dominated field. Of the 2,000+ students studying computer science at the University of Maryland, only 20% of them are women (as of Fall 2016). Our goal is to see this percentage increase while also providing the women already in computer science with the community and resources needed to succeed.
