APT is a platform technology company under seasoned industrial management with a unique formulation and manufacturing capability called isothermal dry particle coating (iDPC). iDPC is a novel and patented, particle engineering technology, which is both cost-effective and highly scalable. The technology is based on APT’s unrivalled low shear manufacturing equipment that processes dry particles with industry leading content uniformity. iDPC creates dry powder blends through the adsorption of fine particles onto the surface of coarse particles without the use of solvents, heat or any other mechanical mixing aids. iDPC does not cause particle attrition, charge separation, triboelectrification or heating, resulting in iDPC being able to handle the most fragile of materials. We specialise in providing powder blending and formulation development expertise particularly for respiratory formulations, oral solid dosage forms and biologicals. APT utilises a Quality by Design (QbD) approach for early phase drug development programmes through to larger scale production. The technology utilises controllable process parameters to provide formulations with targeted critical quality attributes. APT has extensive experience of formulating powders for dry powder inhalers (DPIs) as well as proof of concept in dissolution modification (enhancing dissolution, tailoring dissolution rate for taste masking and sustained release) and formulation of biologicals. We work in collaboration with pharmaceutical and biotech partners to develop novel iDPC formulations of innovator or generic APIs, and in reformulation/repurposing of APIs for new routes of delivery.
