About ASU NBA Trade Deadline Competition

The ASU NBA Trade Deadline Competition gives students from across the country the opportunity to simulate running an NBA front office at the trade deadline. Our multi-day experience requires students to trade amongst one another and present the rationale for their decisions in front of real NBA front office employees, who act as judges to score the moves that were made. Students also have the opportunity to network with these executives, thus increasing equity and availability to a profession which has long been difficult to break into. NBA front offices have the ability to scout out the next round of talent coming up the ranks and maybe even get ideas for moves their teams can make.
