About Atelier Zündel Cristea
AZC was founded in 2001 with the ambition to explore architecture and technique, while putting them at the service of all those with a project to realize. This initial, founding principle has today become our way of working. Since its creation, AZC has undertaken over more than a hundred projects through both selected and open competitions, as well as through direct commissions. Continued participation in architectural competitions and the completion of an ever increasing number of buildings has made AZC stronger, more flexible, and more knowledgeable. Awarded numerous prizes in international competitions in France, in the United States, and in United Kingdom, among which the prestigious “Best Residential Development” 2012 MIPIM award for our first project realized in Paris, our agency continues to develop and build upon its international reputation. AZC is involved in all phases of projects, from the initial design to the completion of construction, taking on a diverse range of scales and programmatic needs. Indeed, the list of our completed works runs today from the first public buildings we developed dedicated to childcare, social housing and medical care facilities, through sporting facilities, amphitheaters, office buildings and residential houses, up to the eight new metro stations in current production in the cities of Rennes and Paris. AZC has also produced installations allowing for the exploration and elaboration of new ways of architectural conception. The majority of our projects, published, exhibited, and awarded prizes and distinctions in numerous countries, have given us the opportunity to articulate and demonstrate our commitment to the issues of sustainable development, mixed-use production, and the evolution of technical details.
