The ATELIERS brand was founded in 2008 by longtime retailer, Mark Azoulay. Mark has been an integral part of the Montreal fashion landscape for close to two decades. His aptly named SCARPA shoe stores have been THE go-to stores for the latest in contemporary and designer fashion since they first opened their doors in 1999. His loyal customers recognized from the start, that if you wanted something with style and quality, that was unique, you had to go to Scarpa. That search for something special is what first prompted Mark to go visit the factories in Italy to fill his stores with the best product he could find. These beautiful designs grew so popular in his shops that other retailers would ask to carry them as well. Inspired by this demand, the ATELIERS brand was created. Today Ateliers has a design team with a combined 50 years experience in the footwear business, leading to a deep understanding and knowledge of what women are looking for. The timeless and understated designs perfectly blend Montreal’s unique sense of style with European craftsmanship and expertise. The specially selected leathers allow comfort to be an essential part of the design process, and the attention to detail ensure that looking good and feeling good are not mutually exclusive. Women feel proud to own and wear Ateliers shoes, many of which are still produced in those same workshops in Italy that Mark first visited, as well as other leading factories in Spain, Portugal and Brazil.
