The vision of Athens Church is to see a People, a City and a World awaken to God and His glory. We believe that the greatest need for people is that they would come to personally know Jesus Christ and behold Him supremely above all else. Our prayer is that you would be awakened to all that God is, all that He’s done, all that He is currently doing and all that He will do. Athens Church is led and shaped by Jesus Christ. “And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.” (Col 1:18-20) Therefore Jesus informs who we are as the church, what we do as the church and how should we should walk as the church. We call this our Gospel DNA… OUR IDENTITY We are a people who God has reconciled to Himself in Christ Jesus and now desire to glorify God by enjoying Him supremely. OUR MISSION To make disciples and plant churches. OUR FUNCTION To walk in a manner worthy of the gospel. Lets be the church, a people who have been called to God to know Him, enjoy Him, walk in Him and proclaim to a world who is in desperate need of Him. May the Lord continually bless us with His presence as we seek to be faithful in planting His church in Columbus, Indiana.
