In a context where human impact is leaving a costly imprint on its homeland, Atmos Lab helps architecture face the environmental challenges of our time with built-in common sense. Playing with temperature t, sunlight s or wind w, we provide a climate-responsive frame of mind, and healthier solutions to build with: more efficient, more comfortable, more sustainable. We are an independent environmental design consultancy formed after the post-graduate master of Sustainable Environmental Design at the Architectural Association in London. Our team members are architects or engineers, that followed specialised studies in environmental design and building physics. Our approach With new tools for calculation and new angles for interpretation, we reinvent the dialogue between engineering and architecture. Atmos Lab always seeks the fairest solution, the clearest course of action, and the most direct way to report its work. We care for simple answers, we stand up to simplistic views. ↳ By combining knowledge from various disciplines, we create bespoke methodologies and technologies for each project and make complex data easy to understand and implement. Our climate responsive solutions ensure the comfort of occupants, minimise energy consumption and running costs. We work in very different kind of climates capitalising on the lessons from all of them. ↳ Environmental architecture works with the climate rather than against it. We see buildings as living organisms, subject to environmental conditions such as temperature, sunlight or wind, but also capable of reacting to those conditions, if designed properly.
