About Atomic Ecology
Atomic Ecology is a research, training and advising business run by me, Dr. Brian Hayden. Following an enjoyable and successful academic career I am moving to the private sector seeking new challenges and opportunities. Over the last 20 years I have conducted applied ecological research across the globe, mentoring and training students online and in person. Stable isotopes are natural biomarkers, encoding the diet and migratory history of every organism on earth. I have spent my career learning how to read this code and apply it to diverse topics from whale migration patterns to the ecosystem function of frozen rivers and lakes. Whether understanding what your food is made of, where its come from or how animal communities are responding to the myriad of challenges human are trowing at them, stable isotopes can provide unparalleled insights into ecological processes.
