About Attar Engineering

Attar Engineering, Inc. is a civil, structural, and marine engineering firm located in southern coastal Maine. We offer civil, structural and marine engineering services to municipalities, residential and commercial developers. The firm was established in 1988 and employs about ten technical staff members. Our design professionals have total control of their projects from the ground up and are involved in the fieldwork, design, permitting and construction phases. At Attar Engineering, Inc., we are dedicated to turning our clients’ dreams into successful developments. Attar Engineering, Inc. is based in Eliot, Maine (10 miles from Portsmouth, NH). The majority of our workload is in York and Cumberland counties in Maine and Rockingham and Strafford counties in New Hampshire. We are licensed to practice engineering in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Attar’s president and founder, Kenneth A. Wood, is a licensed professional engineer, a certified wetland scientist and a subsurface disposal system designer in New Hampshire. Most of our projects are done entirely in house, from the field to the final plans and specifications. We start with a native piece of property, conduct all fieldwork, accomplish preliminary through final designs, obtain all permits and approvals and often provide construction management services. We also foster the design team approach on more involved projects in which we coordinate our efforts with architects, landscape architects, golf architects, design-build contractors and other design professionals.
