About Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy
Founded in 1895, the Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy is ranked in the top 20th percent of all Pharmacy Schools by U.S. News & World Report's Best Pharmacy Schools. Mission Auburn University’s Harrison School of Pharmacy will be a world leader in health care innovation through: advancing the optimization of medication therapy and improving patient care outcomes; and advancing professional practice. The School will educate professionals who are exquisitely qualified to participate in these endeavors. Our faculty and students will directly engage patients and health care systems to improve health outcomes and promote progressive changes in practice. Our pharmaceutical and biomedical science researchers will: elucidate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of disease process; explore how drugs and chemicals work; discover and develop new drugs; translate new information to clinical application; develop dosage forms used in human application; improve the clinical use of drugs; and improve the delivery of health care. Description The Harrison School of Pharmacy (HSOP) is Alabama’s only public institution charged with educating pharmacists, preparing them to manage patient care today and into the future. Our program is grounded in service-based, primary-care-practice that is collaborative with other health disciplines. HSOP offers a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree program, as well as graduate education programs in Pharmacal Sciences and Pharmacy Care Systems. Our Pharmacy Health Services division provides pharmacy and clinical services for Auburn University employees, providing a national model where pharmacists take an active role in creating optimal medication therapy outcomes.
