Most Australians have an interest in the property market, either as active participants or casual observers, in roles of current or potential homeowners or investors. Right now, there is an urgent need for greater transparency in the Australian property market. Buyers and Sellers alike are extremely frustrated by the lack of Price Guides on listings as well as the time delays in the publishing of auction and sales results which may directly affect their property decisions being made. We wanted to find a solution which is fun, intuitive and effective at creating a community for Australian property homeowners, investors, buyers, sellers and “sticky beaks” to share “hot off the press” property insights that provide the benchmarking data desperately needed to make informed decisions. With this as our goal - we have created Auction Snitch, an app for users to share the "Word on the Street” property prices with each other and to follow sales campaign histories for property listings of interest. Many of us already use other apps to share and learn about local services, traffic jams and of course speed cameras so we know how helpful crowd sourced info can be.
