Augusta Wilson Studio, LLC is the fine art studio of Atlanta-based artist Augusta Hyland Wilson. The studio offers original paintings, prints, stationery and fine artist consulting. Artist Statement: My paintings explore the interplay between fun and sophistication. Bright colors, bold texture, and imaginative mark-making are constantly in rotation as I paint. Going from canvas to canvas, I work and rework to create paintings that are both complex and aesthetically pleasing. You could say that my process is quite visceral. More often than not the shear physicality of painting is my driving force. That physicality, that energy, allows me to celebrate what it is to be a painter. I relish in the process, the medium, and therefore create a look that is the perfect way to complete a room, while allowing you to find a new pocket of excitement every time you admire it. About the Artist I am interested in art that is both accessible and thought provoking. I want to bridge the gap between paintings that belong in MOMA and paintings that match your sofa. I believe you can have the best of both worlds. I was raised in a creative environment in the deep south. For as long as I can remember proper etiquette and design have been my guides. I am fortunate to have a BFA in painting from the University of Georgia and a MFA in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design-Atlanta. My education has led to a summer in the hills of Cortona, Italy, a love affair with events and marketing, and a visual language that never tires.
